On the home page for news about Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) there is a section “Snapshot of Attending Partners” (http://news.microsoft.com/wpc2016/).
What struck me is that despite the massive push to the cloud only a small minority of the attendees provide “Cloud Solutions Provider” as their primary identity.
Of course there will be lots of good arguments about primary, secondary etc. However the simple reality would appear to be that most partners still identify themselves with the legacy labels and therefore there is still a massive partner opportunity to pivot their business story to a more customer outcomes and cloud centric one.
